Snails in the Garden

Do you have a problem with snails in your garden?  After a heavy rain is your garden inundated with snails?    Some areas of the country have this problem while others don’t.  The brown snail is not welcome in your garden as it will damage your crops.  These pesky snails first came to America from France in the 1850’s when they were used for food.  There are good snails that will get rid of the bad snails known as decollate snails.  These snails also eat snail eggs so they will stop future snails from hatching.  These decollate snails are very small and have a shell that looks like an ice cream cone.  They normally won’t cross a driveway so you need to put them where they are needed.  Read more…
